The Firm:

A small, yet successful accountancy firm on the outskirts of Newcastle with ambition and growth plans to double in size are looking to invite applicants to join them and support on this journey. Offering a relaxed and vibrant working environment, this provides a complete 360 accounting position, perfect for those who enjoy a varied accounting position.

The Role:

As Accounts Semi-Senior you will be involved in the preparation of micro entities and small limited company accounts. This includes information gathering from clients and reconciliations.

Preparation of quarterly VAT returns, accruals & prepayments and various aspects of bookkeeping, supporting those more junior in the team who will aid you with draft accounts.

Completion of tax returns, corporation tax computations and payroll will also form a small part of your role of which training can be given.

Depending upon your experience there is plenty of scope to get involved with client meetings either from the outset or in time as your confidence and ability grows resulting in your own portfolio to manage.

Experience Required:

  • Preferably AAT Level 4 qualified or part qualified ACCA or equivalent

  • Minimum of 2 years experience working in an accountancy firm

  • Strong communication skills – both written and oral with an interest to develop key client relationships.

  • Knowledge of current accounting standards, techniques and best practice.

  • Team player, as well as being able to work independently

  • Confident working with accounting software such as Xero, Quickbooks, Iris etc

  • Right to work in the UK (sponsorship not available)

Working a 37.5 hour week with flexibility on start and finish times, this position is also open to those wishing to work a reduced reduced working week (min 25 hours).
