Tyne Valley | BGC1001

The Firm:

Our client is a well-established independent accountancy practice with a loyal and growing client base across the North East. Proud of the personal service they provide to local businesses, the firm has built a reputation for developing long-term relationships with both clients and employees.

This is a close-knit and supportive team where collaboration, flexibility and a positive working environment are genuinely valued. They are now looking to appoint an Accounts Senior who will become an integral part of the practice as it continues to grow.

The Role:

This is a varied role offering exposure to a broad portfolio of SME clients, owner-managed businesses, sole traders and partnerships. Working closely with the Partner, you will take responsibility for preparing year-end accounts while developing strong relationships with clients and becoming a trusted point of contact.

Alongside accounts preparation, you may also become involved in preparing VAT returns, assisting with payroll and supporting clients with day-to-day accounting queries. The role provides excellent client contact, allowing you to build long-term relationships while working with a variety of cloud accounting software including Xero, QuickBooks, FreeAgent and Sage.

The firm is seeking someone who enjoys working as part of a collaborative team and is happy to support colleagues where required. Whilst this is predominantly an office-based position, there is flexibility around working hours and the opportunity to agree a working pattern that suits both the individual and the business. Applications are welcomed from those seeking either full-time or part-time hours.

Experience Required:

To be considered, applicants must have previous experience working within an accountancy practice and be confident preparing year-end accounts for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies.

  • Be experienced in preparing statutory accounts for a range of SME clients.

  • Be confident using cloud-based accounting software such as Xero, QuickBooks, FreeAgent and Sage.

  • Be organised, proactive and enjoy working within a close-knit team where everyone supports one another.

Benefits:

  • Competitive salary that reflects your level of experience.

  • An office based role with flexible start and finish times

  • Both full and or part-time hours available

  • Enhanced employer pension contributions.

  • Private medical insurance and healthcare cashback scheme.

  • 24 days annual leave plus bank holidays with Christmas office closure.

  • Friendly, supportive and collaborative working environment.

  • Excellent client exposure and long-term career stability within a growing independent practice.
