The Firm:
A well established accountancy firm in Northumberland with a long track record of serving local clients with their accounting needs is looking to appoint an Accountant as a Client Manager to support the Director following succession planning. They work a 4 day week so you will be able to also enjoy the benefit of Fridays off each week whilst still earning a full-time salary.
The Role:
An Accountant is required to support the Director with a portfolio of small to medium size Limited businesses (plus a few sole traders) with their tax and annual accounts compliance.
This will involve managing your own workload, ensuring you manage deadlines and balancing your priorities to ensure both year end statutory accounts and tax returns are filed on time. You will be attending finalisation meetings with smaller clients and dealing with their day to day queries.
A general practice role that offers variety with the preparation of accounts, tax returns, management accounts and cloud based accounting.
Experience Required:
Qualified, part-qualified or qualified by experience Accountant with a minimum of 3 years experience from an accountancy practice.
Must be competent preparing statutory year end accounts independently.
Able to liaise confidently with clients and manage own workload and keep to deadlines.

The Firm:
A Northumberland based boutique advisory firm offering high level tax advisory to a range of HNWI and SME clients across the north east covering all aspects of both corporate and private client issues with a small close knit team.
The Role:
As the Tax Manager for a small team you will oversee the delivery of work on a portfolio across the team of in excess of 700 tax returns for clients, ensuring the delivery of all their compliance needs in a timely manner alongside supporting the Tax Partner with advisory work.
You will have a broad and interesting portfolio including high net worth individuals, trusts, non-doms and non-residents and assist with capital gains and other considerations. You will be responsible for liaising with these clients, preparing and submitting the personal tax return and liaising with both HMRC and the client throughout.
• Compliance Oversight: Ensure timely and accurate filing of personal tax returns while staying up-to-date with tax regulations. You’ll be the go-to expert for all things compliance.
• Prepare and review tax returns, computations, and disclosures for statutory accounts.
• Provide tax planning advice to optimise tax efficiency and mitigate risks.
• Liaise with external tax advisors and HMRC as necessary.
• Client Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, guiding them through their tax planning needs on matters including IHT, CGT, Succession planning, R&D.
• Training, development, leadership and review for tax staff.
Experience required:
Applicants will be working in an existing tax compliance and or advisory role, perhaps looking for a new challenge in a smaller team that gets you closer to your clients, alternatively an Assistant Manager feeling ready to step up to Manager. With a minimum of ATT qualified and 3 years + tax experience.
