As the firm continues to expand and win new clients, they are now looking to appoint an Accounts Senior to join their office based team in Newcastle. This opportunity is available on either a full-time or part-time basis, offering flexibility for the right individual.
The Role:
This is a varied and client-facing role within a supportive practice environment, working with a broad portfolio of owner-managed businesses across multiple sectors.
You will take responsibility for preparing statutory accounts and tax work while also supporting the development of junior colleagues within the team.
Responsibilities will include:
Preparing statutory year-end accounts for a varied portfolio of clients including limited companies, LLPs, sole traders and partnerships
Drafting corporation tax returns and supporting computations
Preparing self-assessment tax returns where required
Liaising with clients to gather information and respond to queries
Supporting and mentoring junior members of the team
Reviewing work prepared by trainees and ensuring files are ready for Partner review
Assisting with technical queries and maintaining high standards across assignments
There may also be opportunities to gain exposure to audit assignments, depending on your experience and interests.
Experience Required:
The firm is keen to speak with candidates who have experience within UK accountancy practice and are confident managing accounts preparation for a portfolio of clients.
You will ideally be:
ACA or ACCA qualified, or qualified by experience with a minimum of five years experience
Comfortable preparing statutory accounts under FRS102 and UK accounting standards
Confident communicating directly with clients and colleagues
Experience using practice software such as CCH, Xero, QuickBooks, Sage Business Cloud or similar systems would be advantageous.
The ideal individual will be organised, approachable and proactive, with the ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
