The Firm:
A national accounting firm with a growing presence in Newcastle and a network of tax specialists in London and across the UK are looking to appoint an Assistant Manager into their local tax team. They would also be open to an experienced Tax Senior who with a bit more support and time can progress into an Assistant Manager position in the near future. The offices are situated centrally and offer a very relaxed working style along with hybrid working.
The Role:
With a diverse base of clients ranging from entrepreneurs and high net-worth individuals to ambitious owner-managed businesses and multinational groups this is a role offering plenty of technical exposure and challenge to your breadth of knowledge.
With oversight of a broad and varied portfolio, you will guide the workflow of supervisors, seniors and trainees, ensuring the smooth delivery of high-quality work across the tax team. You’ll play an active role in planning resources, supporting the leadership team in aligning departmental priorities with the firm’s strategic direction.
A key part of your remit will be maintaining strong client relationships, monitoring service levels and ensuring work is completed efficiently and accurately. You’ll also support managers with day-to-day people matters, including recruitment and team development.
Your technical responsibilities will include reviewing a range of personal tax returns, P11Ds and PSAs, together with contributing to advisory assignments and helping to shape broader department initiatives and long-term business objectives.
Experience Required:
CTA, or qualified by experience
Review experience of Personal Tax Returns, P11Ds and PSAs
Experience of drafting advisory work (for Manager review)
Leadership or supervisory experience with the ability to take action and direct people
Capability to support vision and strategy, and build trust
Commerciality awareness
