International Tax Manager

The Firm:

We are working with a leading international organisation operating across multiple European countries. The business has a strong heritage, a clear growth strategy, and significant backing from a global infrastructure investment group.

Operating from a Corporate Centre in the North East of England with further offices in London that could serve as a base, the organisation supports a wide portfolio of overseas operations and continues to invest heavily in its people, systems and long-term sustainability agenda.

As part of this, they are now seeking an International Tax Manager to join their established Group Tax function on a 12-month fixed-term contract, covering maternity leave.

The Role:

This is a broad and commercially focused role with exposure to a wide range of international tax matters across Europe. You will work closely with overseas finance teams, senior stakeholders, and external advisors, providing tax support across compliance, reporting, advisory and project work.

The role will involve a mixture of:

  • International tax reporting and forecasting

  • Transfer pricing

  • Tax advisory and project work

  • Supporting M&A activity

  • Partnering with overseas businesses and divisional teams

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Reviewing quarterly and year-end tax reporting positions and presenting these to senior management

  • Working with local finance teams and external advisors across multiple European jurisdictions

  • Supporting acquisitions and growth projects, including tax structuring and risk assessment

  • Managing tax-sensitive projects such as audits and reorganisations

  • Delivering international tax reporting obligations (e.g. BEPS, CbCR, Pillar 2)

  • Leading on transfer pricing documentation and projects

  • Advising on cross-border matters including restructurings, mergers and global mobility

  • Providing tax input into treasury-related matters

  • Managing relationships with third-party tax advisors on complex issues

Experience Required:

You will be a qualified accountant or tax professional (ACA / ACCA / CIMA / CTA), with strong experience in corporate tax, preferably international tax too, however for those interested to explore this field further the team can provide technical support and advice to aid your own personal development.

  • This role would suit someone with 3+ years post-qualification experience, gained either in practice or in-house, who enjoys working in a commercial, international environment.

    Experience or exposure to the following would be highly beneficial:

    • Corporate tax

    • IFRS tax reporting

    • International tax compliance and reporting

    • Transfer pricing

    • M&A or transaction support

  • Strong communication skills are essential, as the role involves working with senior stakeholders across multiple countries and functions.

This is a high-quality maternity cover position within a complex and growing organisation. The role will idelaly be based in the North East of England 2-3 days each week with the remainder working from home. Alternatively this can be based out of London with some travel to the regional office.
