The Role:

As a Private Client Tax Associate Director, you will take ownership of a significant client portfolio, using your technical expertise to provide first-class tax advisory services.

You will act as the trusted advisor, developing strong relationships with clients and identifying opportunities for growth, both within your portfolio and beyond. This role offers genuine influence – not only in shaping client outcomes but also in mentoring and developing the team around you.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading private client advisory engagements and providing clear, commercially viable tax solutions.

  • Developing new business opportunities and contributing to the firm’s wider growth strategy.

  • Ensuring client service excellence is consistently delivered across your team.

  • Supporting and guiding colleagues, helping to shape the next generation of tax talent.

This role would suit an ambitious Senior Manager ready to take the step up or an existing Associate Director looking for a fresh challenge.

Experience Required:

We are seeking a tax professional with:

  • Extensive private client tax experience gained within a professional practice environment.

  • Technical expertise in current private client tax issues with a committment to keeping your knowledge current.

  • A proven track record in delivering advisory projects and building client relationships.

  • Strong leadership and team management skills.

  • ACA and/or CTA qualification.

  • Commercial awareness and the ability to provide high-quality advice to entrepreneurial clients, SMEs and OMBs.

  • The drive to maintain technical excellence while also developing people and contributing to business strategy.

With a genuine fast-track development and nurtured career plan they are seeking to welcome an Indirect Tax Manager or even a Senior Manager to join them on their journey working alongside the Indirect tax team nationally.

The Role:

As Indirect Tax Manager, you will take ownership of a varied portfolio of clients, delivering high-quality VAT advisory services and VAT compliance.

Your work will include reviewing and overseeing VAT returns, managing VAT registrations and group changes, carrying out VAT health checks, and advising on complex transactions. You will also liaise with HMRC on client matters, ensuring practical and timely resolutions. With lots happening also in the digital, duty and customs markets there is plenty to get involved in and work collaboratively with your colleagues.

In addition, you will:

  • Provide clear, practical VAT advice to clients across a range of industries using your technical knowledge alongside bringing in experts from the wider team where necessary.

  • Lead and mentor junior team members, supporting their technical and professional development.

  • Identify opportunities for added value services and contribute to business development, building your reputation in the local market place. With scope to attend events and work across multiple service line clients.

  • Keep up to date with changes in VAT legislation, ensuring clients remain fully compliant. Using this information to share with clients face to face as well through newsletters, seminars and other forms of media.

Experience Required:

  • You will be an experienced VAT specialist, qualified CTA, ACA, ACCA or with equivalent experience gained in practice.

  • Experience will come from either practice or Industry, applications welcome from those in-house looking for a wider variety and technical challenge or those in the profession keen to be part of a winning team where careers are developed based upon individual performance.

  • A strong technical understanding, excellent communication skills, and the ability to build long-term client relationships are essential.

  • Confident communicator able to build relationships with ease.

  • Ambitious with drive to help grow the team as well as fast-track your own career to Senior Manager, Director and beyond.

  • Experience managing staff and overseeing complex projects will be an advantage.

  • The role is open to relocators with a package to support and could also be based in Yorkshire if more convenient for family.
