The Role:

Engaging with your clients’ business, understanding their needs and identify new opportunities
Being the primary day-to-day contact for your allocated portfolio of clients, reviewing accounts completed by the team and preparing more complex accounts.
Budgets and cashflow forecasting
Active business partnering to ensure informed reporting of risks & opportunities, actuals and forecast variance analysis
Analytically reviewing results and analysing key performance indicators for your clients
Ensuring that allocated teams are keeping all accounting systems up to date and accurate within the agree timeframes
Training clients in use of their accounting systems
Assisting with tendering to potential new clients as well as the implementation phase for new engagements
Liaising and collaborating with tax, payroll and other departments on client matters, identifying cross-selling opportunities
Promoting the interests of the firm to clients, prospective clients and other third parties;
Assisting with portfolio allocation across the wider team and monitor time allocations, budgets and deadlines, including data insight for internal management reporting and checklist monitoring
Working in accordance with defined systems and procedures as well challenging the status quo where there may be a more efficient way of doing things
Empowering and educating through line management to develop more junior members of the team.
Attending regular network and associated referrer events
Experience required:
Qualified Accountants (ACA, CA, ACCA) with strong technical accounting experience
Worked with SME and OMB in the UK market
Operating at a minimum of experienced Manager level in the accountancy profession
Ambitious and keen to continue with your own personal development and learning with a view to future promotion
Self-driven, motivated with a passion for accounting and assisting fast growing businesses
Staff supervisory experience, able to motivate teams and lead by example inspiring those around you

Situated in their Newcastle office you will be responsible alongside your colleagues for managing a portfolio of regional clients for whom you will converse with, both over the telephone, by e-mail and in person. Your day to day will see you prepare more complex self-assessment, income, P11D and corporation tax returns from a variety of systems including CCH, alongside review of others returns.
Working in a supportive role to the Manager and Partners you will undertake research for tax planning issues which might include IHT, R&D, capital gains tax, remuneration planning and trusts.
Undertaking basic planning work and liaising with the client as appropriate with support from the regional tax team.
Undertake initial reviews of draft tax computations produced by audit and accounts colleagues.
Experience required:

You will ideally have been trained or gained experience working in the Big 4 or a Top 50 firm.
