The Firm:
A client focused independent accountancy practice with a loyal and long established portfolio of customers, predominantly local businesses across Tyne Valley. The team are small, they work well together and genuinely enjoy the broad role they are able to operate in. They are looking to welcome a new member to the team, either a AAT qualified or qualified by experience Accountant.
The Role:
Working in a small team requires versatility and this role offers just that. With a broad portfolio of local businesses you will be required to prepare year end statutory accounts for Limited, Sole Trader and Partnerships ready for Partner review. This will include taking accounts from trial balance and preparing the tax return.
You will gain instant exposure to clients, liaising for documents and paperwork, and dealing with any queries they may have in the first instance. A great opportunity to forge some longer term relationships and develop your own communication skills.
You will be working with various cloud based software such as Xero and QuickBooks as well preparing accounts on Digita.
This is a full-time role although applicants looking for 4 days will be considered. The role is office based.
Experience Required:
We are looking for an individual with previous or current experience working in a UK accounting practice, preferably a smaller firm where you will have be exposed to a general accounting role and therefore be able to hit the ground running. You will be confident preparing statutory accounts to a review stage. Tax compilance exposure is preferred but can be trained.
Support will be given if you are part way through your AAT or ACCA exams. Y
Whilst experience with Digita would be a bonus, you must be familiar wth cloud based accounting.

The Firm:
Our client is a well-established regional accountancy firm that has enjoyed a period of rapid growth and significant client wins. With an expanding portfolio of owner-managed businesses and entrepreneurial clients, the firm continues to strengthen its presence across the region.
As part of this growth, they are now looking to appoint an Accounts Semi-Senior to join their expanding local office. This is an excellent opportunity to become part of a supportive and forward-thinking team, gaining exposure to a varied client base while continuing to develop your technical skills within practice. Applications are open to full or part-time working hour arrangements.
The Role:
Working within the accounts team, you will support the preparation and delivery of accounting services to a broad range of clients including limited companies, partnerships and LLPs.
Your responsibilities will include:
Preparing statutory year-end accounts and supporting working papers
Producing management accounts for a portfolio of clients
Preparing and reviewing VAT returns
Drafting corporation tax computations and CT600 returns
Preparing reports highlighting key financial information, business issues and controls
Liaising directly with clients and other stakeholders to gather information and respond to queries
This is a varied role that offers excellent exposure across general practice accounting while allowing you to develop client relationships and broaden your experience.
Experience Required:
AAT qualification or be part-qualified ACA/ACCA
Demonstrable experience in a similar accounts role within practice
A professional and organised approach to your work
Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
Good time management skills and the ability to meet deadlines
