The Role:
A superb opportunity for an experienced and organised Tax Manager who is competent with running the day to day operations of a busy personal tax compliance team.
You will be managing your own small portfolio of more complex personal tax returns, whilst overseeing the compliance process and returns of the team, ensuring an accurate and timely delivery.
The levels of support needed within the team vary and you will find yourself supporting those more junior with the completiion of tax returns as well as reviewing returns and dealing with day to day queries.
With some advisory experience you will be also be exposed to a variety of tax planning assignments supporting the Partner with research and planning on a range of tax issues.
Typical work will include:
Managing a portfolio of personal tax clients
Preparing and reviewing personal tax returns
Dealing with enquiries
Coaching and supporting a small team of tax professionals
Assisting with tax planning assignments such as:
Inheritance Tax planning
R&D reports
Group reorganisations
Profit extraction strategies
Attending client, solicitor, and IFA meetings
Over time the role offers further exposure to advisory-focused tax work and as such would suit someone looking to transition in time, however it also lends itself well to an experienced Tax Compliance Supervisor or Manager who enjoys working in tax compliance.
You will need to be a self-starter, able to think for yourself and come up with solutions, working independently as well as part of a team.
Experience Required:
Qualfied ATT or equivalent years of experience. CTA (study support provided) is an advantage but not essential
Strong personal tax compliance background with 3-5 years’ experience in practice
Strong organisation skills with the ability to manage deadlines effectively
Strong communication and client relationship skills
Supervsiory or management experience
Keen interest in developing tax planning and advisory skills (not essential)
