The Role:
As Assistant Manager you will be tasked with supporting the Tax Manager with managing the compliance and tax advice process for a client allocation. This will entail supervision of tax members, assisting with client work and dealing with technical and administrative issues.
You will be allocated a portfolio of more complex clients to prepare tax returns for alongside the review of others returns. Dealing with HMRC enquiries and drafting correspondence, preparing reports for clients, monitoring deadlines and budgets, and sharing your knowledge with team members will be part of your daily routine. There will be opportunities to assist Partners with their prospective fee quotes as you support business growth.
Experience Required:
To join the team as Assistant Tax Manager you will be ATT qualified as a minimum with a secure knowledge of private client and partnership tax compliance, with some planning exposure.
With good communication skills you will be confident drafting various correspondence to clients and HMRC, able to articulate on any technical issues, explaining tax matters in an understandable manner.
As you look to further your career your ability to foster long-term relationships will be important so good inter-personal skills are essential.

The Role:

Delivery on tax projects including IHT, R&D and corporate restructuring to name a few which will also include research for the Partners.

Experience required:
As a qualified tax and or Accountant (CTA/ACA/ACCA/CA ) you will have a career that demonstrates your compliance and advisory skills in a mixed tax capacity with exposure to a range of tax issues operating at either Director or Senior Manager level within practice.
Knowledge of specialist tax areas including but not limited to trusts, IHT, corporation tax, residency, corporate reorganisations is desired.

This offers a great training opportunity for those wishing to qualify as an Auditor and ensure they develop a wide breadth of audit exposure before qualification. You will be exposed to all aspects of the audit process from planning assignments, identifying key risks, assessing how to test them as well as reviewing the budgets through to completing an analytical review.
As an Audit Associate you will take charge leading smaller audits, supervising, delegating and reviewing of others in the team, all with the support from our Manager. This will see you involved in monitoring stock-takes, managing bank letter processes and completing Assignment Feedback Forms.
Some of your work will be based on site while at other times you will be working between home and office.
Experience Required:
ACA Part Qualified or equivalent
Minimum of 12 months relevant UK work experience in an audit function
Excellent communication skills – both written and oral with an interest to develop key client relationships.
Knowledge of current accounting standards, techniques and best practice.

The position is hands on, from managing your own portfolio of personal clients with complex tax affairs and billing for the team, to assisting Partners in, and where appropriate, lead tax planning projects such as non-domicile issues, onshore and offshore trusts (and other structures) and, capital gains and inheritance tax issues.
Experience Required:
Qualified ACA/ACCA and or CTA
Significant relevant experience gained within a professional services firm, dealing with law firm partners and/or partnerships.
Demonstrable experience of managing complex compliance issues.
People management and organisational skills.
