The Role:
Undertaking a managerial role in the personal tax team you will be responsible for ensuring timely delivery of tax compliance and advisory services for a portfolio of HNWI and Directors across the north east of England.
Responsibilities will include:
Review and preparation of income tax and partnership tax returns
Review of Tax Assistants work
Tax planning and research to support the senior management team drafting tax reports
Involvement in remuneration planning and capital gains tax, liaison with clients.
Office and client based role with meetings external
Experience Required:
The position at Assistant or Manager requires a qualified tax practitioner or accountant (CTA/ACA/ACCA/CA) with relevant tax experience gained working in a UK practice adhering to UK laws. You will be a confident tax preparer and able to liaise with clients well using all forms of technology as well as in person.
Advisory experience in IHT and trusts is desirable but a degree of training can be given so is not essential. It is important you can develop rapport quickly working with such a wide range of clients whilst also assisting leading the tax team.

The Role:
As an Indirect tax professional representing the firm you will provide pragmatic commercial support to clients to improve their day-to-day reporting for indirect tax. This includes improving working capital, reducing errors, reducing costs, advising on complex transactions and ensuring indirect taxes are handled correctly. Furthermore you may also advise how indirect taxes such as value added tax (VAT) impinge on the client’s supply chain and financial and accounting systems.Build and maintain tax relationships with clients and provide exceptional levels of client service
Negotiation skills, able to sustain opinion and handle challenges
Business development skills – able to identify and convert opportunities to sell work by proactively managing existing clients and winning new clients. (more so at Senior Manager grade)
High level management of the successful delivery of technically complex and demanding consulting projects, ensuring technical excellence and practical / business driven approach taken
Overall responsibility of quality of client service
Manage possible leads from other areas of the practice
Build networks and relationships internally and externally for the team to leverage from
Ensure delivery of quality work and take day to day leadership of delivery team
Help people to develop through effectively supervising, coaching and mentoring staff
Contribute to people initiatives, including retaining and training international tax professionals
Significant involvement in the management of the team both in terms of strategy and operations and also through managing junior staff development and assignments
Experience Required:
Business development skills, able to identify and convert opportunities to sell work
Effective time management, ability to remain calm when under pressure to meet deadlines
Excellent communicator in a range of situations both written and oral
Significant experience in VAT from a professional services background or in-house team
ATT / ACA / CA or CTA would be an advantage but are not a requirement
The role would suit an existing Senior Manager but we are happy to discuss the opportunity with an experienced, ambitious Manager

The Role:
Supporting the Manager and Partnership group within the firm you will be required to establish relationships with your key client contacts, these can be tailored to your experience but will expose you to both corporate and not for profit entities. Leading on audit assignments you will spend time both on site as well as working remotely on some audits. You can also spread your time between home and office with flexibility afforded to suit your working week. You will be expected to identify issues and agree resolutions internally ensuring your Manager / Partner is up to date on job progress. Your previous experience in audit will equip you well to be aware of commercial aspects of clients businesses and their impact, alongside the ability to identify and highlight opportunities for the wider firm to undertake further services.
Experience Required:
You will be fully ACA/ACCA qualified with UK audit experience within an accounting firm. You must be able to demonstrate audit and accounts experience from a professional services firm and be used to liaising with clients direct. Naturally you will have good communication skills and enjoy the interaction this role brings. You must have the capacity to manage projects and deadlines wit strong organisation skills.
