The Firm:
With a long-established presence in the North East market, this accountancy firm has built trusted relationships with a wide range of clients, many of whom have remained loyal for decades. As the firm continues to evolve, it’s embracing cloud-based technology and the opportunities presented by AI to ensure it remains ahead of the curve. With growth on the horizon, they are now looking to welcome an experienced Accountant to join their close-knit team and work closely with the Partner.
The Role:
You’ll be responsible for managing a portfolio of local SME clients, typically ranging from £500k to £10m turnover across a variety of sectors. The role will see you taking a hands-on approach in the preparation of year-end statutory accounts as well as reviewing accounts prepared by junior staff, ensuring high standards and compliance are maintained. The joy of this role is that it combines both the hands-on detailed work as well as review and oversight.
You’ll also liaise directly with clients to provide advice and build lasting relationships, working closely with the Partner on the ongoing development of the practice. Experience Required:
ACA/ACCA qualified or qualified by experience
Previous experience working in an accountancy firm with SME clients
Competent in the preparation and review of year-end accounts
Strong interpersonal skills and client relationship experience
Knowledge of cloud-based accounting software (e.g. Sage, Xero, QuickBooks)
A commercial mindset and interest in helping grow a modern practice would be advantageous but not essential
