The Firm:

An award-winning regional accountancy firm are looking to appoint an Audit Semi-Senior to their Teesside office to work with a strong client base in a growing audit department. A great opportunity for an aspiring part-qualified Accountant or Auditor to develop their audit experience as they work towards becoming a Qualified Chartered Accountant. The Role:

With a minimum of two years’ current/recent practice experience and ready for a new challenge, this will suit either those AAT Qualified/finalist or commenced ACA/ACCA studies.  Your main tasks include being involved in audit assignments in and out of the office, preparing accounts and business tax computations.

  • Assisting in audit assignments for a wide variety of business sectors

  • Undertake smaller, less complex audit assignments on-site (initially as you develop your knowledge) ensuring work is completed efficiently.

  • Assist on larger audit engagements, supporting senior team members and completing allocated sections thoroughly

  • Plan, execute, and document audit tests in line with agreed methodologies

  • Work closely with clients, raising and clearing queries effectively

  • Complete audit files to a stage agreed with the assignment lead

  • Working within the accounts team you will help service a portfolio of clients, dealing with year-end and other ad-hoc issues throughout the year

Experience Required:

  • Minimum of two years’ proven experience in accountancy practice in an audit role or multi disciplined role

  • An understanding of the fundamentals of year end accounts preparation and auditing specifically to FRS102 & UK GAAP.

  • AAT qualified/finalist as a minimum or may have commenced ACCA/ACA studies

  • Focused on meeting deadlines through effective time management and organisational skills

  • Proficient and confident with IT and accounting systems

  • Motivated and committed to provide an excellent service to both clients and colleagues

  • Enthusiastic and desire to succeed

  • A strong team-player
