The Role:
As a Senior Corporate Tax Manager or an existing Tax Manager ready for progression you will be responsible for managing your own portfolio whilst assisting the tax department with the day to day workflow planning for the team as well as engage in new and existing relationships to bring opportunities and work to the firm.
Your day to day will see you manage a small portfolio of key corporate clients including their compliance process, with focus on supporting the Tax Partners in the delivery of tax advisory services to both new and existing clients. As a Senior Manager you will naturally provide leadership to the compliance team with the provision of technical advice, coaching, appraisals and ensuring a high quality of work is delivered.
Experience required:
We are looking to speak with a tax professional at Manager level or above with previous corporate tax or mixed tax experience from an accountancy practice You will be suitably qualified with either CTA/ACA/ACCA/CA or equivalent and ideally have worked with the SME market. Your technical knowledge will be strong and you will find researching complex areas of tax legislation an enjoyable challenge. You need to be able to establish strong working relationships with your client portfolio through assignments and regular contact both face to face and via the telephone.

The Role:
Situated in their County Durham office you will be responsible alongside your colleagues for managing a portfolio of regional clients for whom you will converse with, both over the telephone, by e-mail and in person. In addition to managing their compliance affairs you will be involved with a number of advisory projects working with HNWI and SME clients.
Your day to day will see you prepare more complex self-assessment, income, P11D and corporation tax returns from a variety of systems including CCH, alongside review of others returns.
Working in a supportive role to the Manager and Partners you will undertake research for tax planning issues which might include IHT, R&D, capital gains tax, remuneration planning and trusts.
Undertaking basic planning work and liaising with the client as appropriate with support from the regional tax team.
Undertake initial reviews of draft tax computations produced by audit and accounts colleagues.
Experience Required:
ATT or part-qualified CTA with experience working with UK tax legislation
Open to considering those with either mixed, personal or corporate tax experience
Excellent communication skills, confident speaking to clients face to face
Strong IT skills with experience working with tax software
A passion for developing your career in tax including advisory
Able to manage priorities, deadlines and multiple projects at one time
Valid right to work in the UK without requiring VISA or sponsorship

The payroll function provides a full 360 service to a range of clients with their payroll requirements from sole director payrolls to multiple (up to 100 employees on each). You will also take responsibility for pension provisions and any questions your clients will have payroll related.
During quieter times across the month your bookkeeping experience will be utilised supporting the accounts team with bookkeeping to trial balance and preferably quarterly VAT returns for small limited companies and sole traders.
Experience Required:
We are looking for an experienced Payroll Senior with a minimum of 2 -3 years payroll experience either from practice or Industry who has taken responsibility for multiple payrolls with a sound technical knowledge of the payroll process. Ready for a new challenge applicants must be organised and able to cope under pressure at month end. We would also look for the successful applicant to have bookkeeping experience, basic level is sufficient.

The Role:
Completion, preparation and filing of a wide range of income tax returns for Directors, HNWI’s, Partnerships and Sole Traders
Supporting the Tax Partner with tax planning, provision of day to day advice on all aspects of personal taxation and OMB, including tax codings, capital gains, inheritance tax, capital allowances, self assessment liabilities, payments on account and payroll queries
Dealing with personal tax and OMB clients face to face in meetings and via telephone to discuss a wide range of tax issues
Dealing with HMRC regarding penalty appeals, interest objections, enquiries, adjustments and general day to day issues.
Experience required:
A minimum of 2- 3 years experience completing personal tax returns in a professional services environment
A working knowledge of CCH or similar tax software
Enjoy liaising with clients both on the telephone and in face to face meetings
A strong communicator verbally and with excellent report writing skills
Organised to be able to ensure deadlines for reporting requirements are met
Able to use your own initiative to explore planning research projects
ATT qualified or part-qualified would be desirable
