The Firm:
A professional services firm in the heart of Darlington are looking to recruit an Accounts Manager following the retirement of one of their current Managers. Joining a very strong accounts team you will find a supportive and collaborative team led environment, perfectly suited to either a new Manager, Assistant Manager or a more experienced Accountant ready for a new challenge.
The Role:
Working alongside a team of Managers you will be jointly responsible for leading a strong accounts team in the delivery of client services.
Whilst being hands on with the completion of statutory accounts and review work for the team you will also be responsible for leading the delivery on all sole trader and partnership clients, ensuring that client queries are handled efficiently and accounts are with Partners for final review meetings on time with minimal changes required.
You will be expected to manage workflow, assist with planning work, coordinate with other departments including tax, and support more junior members in the team with their work and learning.
You will get to work with a broad range of sectors including professional services, manufacturing, retail, farming and charities.

Similarly the more experienced Manager who enjoys operating at this level can contniue to do so without any pressure to step up a level.
Experience Required:
ACA/ACCA or qualified by experience
Minimum of three to four years experience working in an accountancy firm
Good technical knowledge in financial and statutory accounting standards
Strong attention to detail and analysis skills
Confident user of accounting software such as Iris, CCH, Quickbooks, Sage, Xero or similar
Organised and able to work with ease to deadlines managing multiple assignments at one time.
Exposure to supervisory or management experience
A genuine interest in wanting to work with clients and help them with their business accounts
