The Role:

Working as part of the accounts department, you will provide support to both the accounts and bookkeeping teams, gaining exposure to a varied workload across a diverse portfolio of SME clients.

Responsibilities will include the preparation of year-end accounts, bookkeeping, VAT returns and supporting clients with Making Tax Digital requirements. You will work closely with senior members of the team, developing your technical knowledge while building confidence in dealing directly with clients and responding to day-to-day queries.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to broaden their experience within practice and gain exposure to a range of accounting disciplines, perhaps whilst working towards professional AAT exams.

Experience Required:

  • Applicants must have a minimum of two years' experience working within an accountancy practice environment.

  • You may be AAT qualified or currently studying towards your AAT qualification and looking to further develop your skills.

  • Experience preparing accounts or at least working papers is required.

  • You will have experience with all aspects of bookkeeping and VAT duties.

  • You will be comfortable using cloud-based accounting software, including Xero and/or Sage, and possess strong communication skills with the confidence to build positive relationships with clients, colleagues and Partners alike.
