Tax Senior

A firm of Chartered Accountants based South Tyneside are looking to appoint a Personal Tax Senior, offering both full or part-time hours to suit.§

Working with support from the Tax Manager you will  manage your own portfolio of personal tax clients, looking after all their personal tax compliance and dealing with basic advisory queries. The opportunity also provides the chance to oversee and review the work of a more junior member in the team based at another local site, giving you the chance to work across multisites and with that a bit more independant working.

Your responsibilities will include the following:

• Management of a portfolio of clients consisting of sole traders, landlords, Directors, non-resident individuals and Trusts
• Preparation and submission of Self-Assessment Tax Returns, 60-day Capital Gains Tax returns and P11Ds
• Communicating tax liabilities to clients and providing the necessary information to enable them to pay their liabilities in line with relevant deadlines
• Identifying tax planning opportunities within your portfolio and communicating these to the Partners
• Assisting the Tax Manager and Partners with ad-hoc advisory projects
• Mentor and review of returns for a Tax Assistant

We are seeking a Tax Senior with experience of managing their own portfolio, comfortable working with clients direct and advising on all aspects of Self-Assessment Tax Returns. You will have good technical knowledge and the ability to research and communicate such information to both colleagues and clients.

Applicants will preferably be ATT qualified or working towards qualification (Study support available) within an accountancy practice.
