A new opportunity to join a highly professional and well regarded north east accountancy practice as an Audit Manager. With a focus on managing audits from planning to completion this is a key role within the team and firm wide.

As a qualified Accountant, either ACA or ACCA we would look for you to hold previous audit experience either at Supervisor, Assistant Manager or Manager level working with the corporate sector. The client base spans the country with manufacturing, IT, professional service and PFI projects to name just a few.

Key responsibilities will be:

  • Managing  a portfolio of clients ensuring that a high quality audit and assurance service is delivered.
  • Preparing, reviewing audit plans, staff resource and managing the progress of jobs, addressing any issues and monitoring budgets.
  • Review and sign off audit file, dealing with any queries before partner review.
  • Coaching and training of more junior members in the audit team assisting with their study queries and knowledge gaps.
  • Developing good client relationships adding value where applicable.

Experience and skills desired:

  • Qualified Auditor from the profession (ACA/ACCA) with demonstrable experience managing audits.
  • FRS102 current technical knowledge.
  • IT literate with exposure to both Microsoft Excel (to a medium level) and audit software.
  • Staff supervision or management experience.
  • First class communication skills, a confident writer and comfortable in a face to face meeting environment.
  • Organised and able to work multiple projects at one time both independently and within a team.
