Accounts Senior

A small Independant firm of accountants are looking to appoint an Accountant or Accounts Senior with general practice accounting experience to join their team at their offices in South Tyneside.

The Role

Working with a small group of Directors  and accounting staff you will be responsible for preparing year end statutory accounts to first draft stage (as a minimum).

This is a 360 role where you will be actively involved in all aspects of accounting from the initial collection of financial data from your client records (excel, cloud software and a few manual), trial balance and final year end accounts submission.

This will also involve the completion of quarterly VAT returns and self-assessment tax returns. Being able to offer some support to the payroll team would be a bonus but not essential.

Working with small businesses all under the £1million turnover, across a mix of sectors you will be given the opportunity to build your portfolio where you can work with the same clients regularly and develop relationships.

Experience Required

• This role will suit an individual with general practice accounting experience gained from a UK accounting firm. If you have had exposure to all aspects of accounting your experience will equip you well to transition into this role.
• AAT Level 4 part or fully qualified or similar is required.
• Familiar with the use of cloud based accounting software  (Quickbooks, Xero) and a competent Excel user.
• Able to manage multiple clients and high volume transactions with efficiency.
• Strong communications skills, comfortable liaising with clients on the telephone, email and face to face.
