We are recruiting on behalf of a north east accountancy firm situated between Tyne & Wear and County Durham who are looking to appoint a qualified Accountant  (ACA/ACCA) to undertake the role of Client Manager for a portfolio of SME and OMB clients.

As a firm who recognise the value of engagement this role suits those who enjoy interacting regularly with clients and enjoy providing an advisory service rather than just pure compliance. The emphasis within the firm is upon getting to know your client and their business. This will enable you to provide the best possible commercial advise alongside consideration of the numbers.

As Client Manager you will lead a small team of accounts staff managing the delivery of accounts and advisory services to a wide range of businesses. This will involve regular client (final) meetings, dealing with queries, completing statutory and management accounts in addition to the review of your teams work.  You will also find yourself involved in financial forecasting and training and developing your team. There will be opportunities for networking, attending your chosen local network events to widen your contact network and build new relationships.

We are searching for an outgoing Accountant who loves fresh ideas and embracing change for the better. The role requires a confident individual who enjoys the communication aspects of being an Accountant as well as the numbers. You will find yourself working in a close knit team yet with plenty of autonomy and opportunities for you to shine in your leadership.

Experience required:

  • Qualified ACA/ACCA Accountant with a minimum of 3 years practice experience.
  • Proven experience with handling a portfolio of clients.
  • UK statutory and management accounting experience from an accounting firm.
  • Coaching/training/reviewing of junior staff
  • Advisory skillset

Experience desired:

  • Supervisory and or management of staff.
  • Current or previous user of Xero, Quickbooks, Sage or CCHd tax
