Practice Assistant Accountant
£18-25,000pa depending upon experience Full-time with flexible working BGC-01751-AC Permanent
Embracing what is our new normal, my client is looking to recruit and strengthen their team in a period of time that has over the last 10 years seen tremendous growth. The accountancy practice has expanded their geographical reach across the UK and are now seeking an Assistant Accountant to join their team.
Having fully mobilised all of their staff to work from home during lock down they are now addressing a new way of delivering their service that consists of both remote and office based working each week, at employee request. Their modern approach and use of technology to adapt to change is what some might call a breath of fresh air. As such we are looking to attract someone who is comfortable with this set up for the longer term.
With the use of various media such as Google hangouts, Zoom and Teams your role will work closely alongside the Practice Accountant whether you are in the office or at home, ensuring you receive all the necessary initial training and support required to deliver on your role effectively.
We are appealing to those with current accounting practice experience as your role will support the Accountant with the preparation of year end statutory accounts on behalf of a varied client portfolio. This will also entail the completion of personal and corporation tax computations, VAT returns and some management accounts. You will mainly use Xero and Excel, previous experience of Xero is not essential but would help.
Applicants must have current or recent practical experience from an accounting practice as opposed to industry. Working with a variety of clients, your customer service focus and ability to multi-task is a necessity. We require someone who can balance the demands and time pressures of working with multiple clients. Furthermore with the element of working from home you will need to demonstrate your communication skills, an important factor for the success of this recruitment.
Whilst you may not be with your colleagues in person each day, the Partners of the firm take great pride in creating a fun place to work, one where everyone has the chance to come together. This will not change and there will still be regular get togethers (when Covid-19 allows) and equally will ensure a great work life balance is maintained for all.
A market rate salary, generous holidays, flexible working, on site car parking and many other benefits help to make this role attractive. Study support is available (AAT/ACCA) along with the daily support from your peers.
In a role that offers such great flexibility and some might say the best of both worlds, this is not one to miss.
