Practice Accountant / Assistant Accountant

A small yet growing accountancy firm with offices across the UK are looking to appoint additional  resource to their team in Jesmond at both an Accountant and Assistant Accountant level.

The firm provide a full service offering to their clients, mainly SME, OMB and entrepreneurial, with bookkeeping, audit, cloud accounting, tax and outsourcing services.

We are looking for accountancy professionals who have spent time working in a UK accountancy firm. This is not a training role but support will be given for those still on their learning journey. As a minimum you will be able to competently take accounts to a trial balance stage.  Preferably you will be able to also complete year end financial accounts.

With there being multiple vacancies the opportunity is varied and can be tailored to your level of experience but can include:

• Year end statutory accounts
• Monthly management accounts
• Corporation tax computations
• Bookkeeping
• Audit

You will need to feel comfortable liaising with clients and supporting them with their queries as you will be in regular daily contact via the telephone with some face to face site visits.

This role will support study leave, so may well appeal to those either working through their AAT or at the stage of wishing to embark upon their professional qualifications (ACA/ACCA).

With there being more than one vacancy we would also like to hear from more experienced Accountants either qualified or through time that would enjoy a varied role with their own client portfolio.

The office has a very relaxed feel to it. Most staff are in the office each day and enjoy working in a close knit team. There is free parking but the office is also very accessible via public transport. Part-time hours would also be considered and we welcome applications from all, provided you have UK experience.
