Practice Accountant

A unique opportunity to join a small growing accountancy firm as Practice Accountant working alongside the Director to help grow the business at their offices in Stockton.

We are searching for an ambitious Practice Accountant, qualified or qualified by experience in the profession who has a hunger to become involved in the day to day running of the practice. Managing a portfolio of clients, you will also be involved in the strategy of the business working with the Director as a team to achieve growth and also a share in the business.

This opportunity would suit those interested in running their own business who would welcome a couple of years support first in order to do this longer term, or simply may enjoy being involved in more than just accountancy but without the burden of having your own business.

On a day day to day basis you will work in a small team completing clients accounts from start to finish including tax compliance, dealing with any queries and advising clients on their financial affairs. You must be able to prepare a full set of statutory accounts from paper bag to finalisation. The firm currently use Excel to do this and finalise with CCH.

There is a project for those interested to transfer clients across to Xero/Quickbooks/Sage or something similar, for those that would prefer to work with this technology.

The position is office based with most of your clients based locally.
