A north east tax specialist accountancy firm who provide both compliance and tax planning services to a portfolio of HNWI and local SME businesses as well as some trusts and estates are enjoying tremendous growth off the back of their reputation and service. As such they would like to appoint a Personal Tax Senior to join them and their friendly team in their offices, just North West of Newcastle.

The firm are small, yet growing and have a very strong reputation with in excess of 50 years tax planning experience between the specialists, so you will be in good hands as you navigate through your tax career. Applicants will bring to the role a minimum of 2-3 years personal tax compliance experience, ideally working towards their ATT exams or close to completion.

You must have strong communication skills, confident to speak with clients on the telephone and assist with their basic queries along with liaison with HMRC. Your presentation skills are also important, we are looking for articulate professionals who can produce reports and write  e-mails and letters to clients.

You will be responsible for a portfolio of clients for whom you will develop a working relationship with, gathering the necessary information in order to produce their tax return ready for Manager review.

Organisation and time management skills are essential to ensure you can comfortably manage multiple client returns at the same time and within filing deadline.

With an experienced team around you and some really interesting clients you will learn lots. This is definitely a role for those passionate about a career in tax. In addition to the day to day learning on the job you will be fully supported with any professional tax studies (ATT and CTA) to enhance your technical knowledge.  There are plenty of opportunities for the role to grow as you do, with progression to more complex returns and advisory work very much a real opportunity.

The staff work a mix between home and office, coming together a couple of times a week to collaborate whilst giving flexibility too. Their offices are spacious, with plenty of parking. Their salary package also includes 25 days holidays, study support, 35 hour week, pension and various other benefits. Please note you will need a car for this role.
