Bookkeeper

A well established organisation in Sunderland are looking to attract the talent of an experienced Bookkeeper who is able to bring their expertise to support in a client facing role.

Working full-time in their offices in Sunderland you role will be based around the service delivery of bookkeeping to your portfolio of clients. Working with both small to medium sized businesses in the local community you will take responsibility for ensuring monthly bookkeeping tasks are completed, mainly with the use of Sage, Quickbooks and Xero.

Most of the work will be delivered remotely from the office but there will be times where you will need to attend your clients offices to support them with their finance and cloud based accounting systems.  Day to day you will liaise with staff colleagues, HMRC and your clients to gather the necessary information to complete quarterly VAT returns, invoice processing and reconciliations.

If you have payroll experience this would be advantageous to support the payroll team during holiday cover. This would involve the collation of data, processing calculations, deductions through to payments and all related pension payments and year end processes for weekly, fortnightly and monthly payrolls.

Applications are welcome from experienced Bookkeepers who are able to work full-time and have proven experience of working for multiple business sectors either from your time in an accounting practice or during your working career with different employers. You will work with varied accounting systems including Sage, Xero and Quickbooks, prior experience of at least one would be desired. A qualification such as AAT would be desirable but not essential.
