As part of my clients continued vision to grow, the opportunity for a Head of Tax at their Newcastle office plays a major part in the firms expansion for the future. We are looking for an individual experienced in tax with the ability to mange change, whilst reshaping strategically the current tax department as it stands now.
This is suited to a qualified tax professional (CTA/ACA/CA) ready for a new challenge and to try something different with this small yet growing firm. As Head of Tax we are looking for an individual with the experience and expertise to drive further systemisation of efficiency, both to the output of the team, report management and high growth of the services delivered and income generated by the team.
Collaboration is key, and you’ll have plenty of help to achieve this. We are keen to find an individual who is able to drive the quality, delivery and expertise, streamline efficiencies within the team processes, particularly the self-assessment, which you will have significant influence in the shape and makeup of the team. The delivery of agreed client service levels is at the forefront as is the desire to be consistent for every client.
Your overall responsibility on a day to day will be to look after the people in your team, both technically, commercially and in their personal skills. Planning and prioritising to ensure client workloads are managed across personal and corporate tax services, including personal self-assessment, capital gains tax, (S)EIS services and services associated with share option schemes including the valuation process. You will also manage a small portfolio of clients, working with them closely to build the relationship. With the use of technology and embracing core apps you will get to identify further related chargeable services within the team in line with strategic business objectives.
We would like to attract an individual who has spent time leading a team in an accounting practice or has been in a technical or client facing role and is now keen to expand their management, communication and collaboration skills. You will possess strong knowledge of personal and corporate tax legislation and processes, and how these services fit into the overall service portfolio for clients. With strong organisation and time management skills you will already be working in a client facing capacity with first class communication and the ability to build rapport quickly.
