Financial Accountant – ACA / ACCA newly qualified

A rare opportunity has arisen to join a fast-growing UK group with operations in fast-moving consumer goods and the sports arena.

With headquarters in Newcastle upon Tyne, we are looking to appoint a Financial Accountant into a new role that will oversee the strategic development of the finance function.

As a manufacturer with a vibrant and loved brand and distinct consumer offering, this is a business who utilise their online presence to connect directly with consumers. Holding close relationships with the charitable sector, they are also passionate about giving back to the community.

At an exciting stage of their growth journey, you will report to the CFO and be involved in the ongoing corporate restructure of the company, as well as take responsibility for the group treasury function and preparation of group statutory accounts. 

With one direct report, you will be the lead contact for the annual audit and also oversee group-wide tax compliance with HMRC. Responsible for accounting transactions and company secretarial duties, you will be required to ensure the wider team adhere to good accounting principles.

As a Financial Accountant, you will be newly qualified (ACA/ACCA) and looking for your first move out of a professional practice or working in a fast-paced business, hungry for a new challenge and keen to become part of an ambitious team with a strong moral compass.

Excellent communication skills are a necessity, as is the ability to work comfortably under pressure. Able to meet multiple deadlines, prior experience of accounts preparation, cashflow planning and analysis is essential, along with a proficiency in Microsoft Office.
