The If U Care Share Foundation is a non-profit charity based in Chester-le-Street who provide support to people at risk of suicide and those that have been impacted by losing a loved one to suicide. Established in 2005, the tight knit team work tirelessly with passion to listen and offer practical and emotional support to people in distress. As well as offering help to people when they need it most, they provide mental health training to schools, sports clubs – from grassroots to professional level – and in the workplace.

As demand for their services increase, they are looking to appoint a dynamic Finance Manager to oversee and play a hands on role in the effective management of the day to day financial operations for the charity.

The role encompasses the day to day management of a small finance team and its workload. Whilst supporting the team and attending management meetings, you will also ensure the accurate collation of information for management accounts and reports.  Each month you will be responsible for processing a small payroll, pension and expenses as well as completing month end procedures and account reconciliations. Preparation of the annual budget will also sit within your remit.

You will work closely with the Charity’s external accountants to ensure all the relevant information is provided for the year-end accounts audit.

We are looking for an AAT Qualified professional with hands on experience in all aspects of day to day financial management, preferably with Sage. A sound knowledge and understanding of accounting functions and processes is expected. Any exposure to charity operations would be advantageous.

As a strong communicator you will also be able to demonstrate good leadership and think strategically about the charity’s operation and organisational needs, as well as identify further opportunities to help the charity develop its income.

We hope to attract a Finance Manager with the necessary skills as mentioned above, but one who has a genuine interest in the work that we do and is committed to working at the charity for the long-term.

In what is, without doubt, an incredibly rewarding job, this can at times be pressurised and challenging. For that reason we are looking for an individual who is comfortable working in the mental health environment and passionate about making a difference.
