Audit Assistant

This is certainly not a traditional accountancy firm, instead it is one that places a high emphasis upon people and relationships, rather than just the numbers. As such they are looking for an Audit Assistant with a similar ethos, someone who enjoys building meaningful client relationships and is keen to join a fast growing firm with an ambitious team.

As an Audit Assistant based in Newcastle, you will join part of a leading audit team who are all very much valued and empowered within the firm. A strong emphasis is placed upon staff well being and nobody works long hours. This is genuinely an audit role where you will receive full study support, day to day technical training from both Managers and Partners, a local client base requiring no overnight travel away from home and a personalised career development programme just for you.

We are looking for an audit professional with ideally between 12 months and three years experience. Most likely on your professional qualification journey either AAT or ACA/ACCA your studies will be transferred across on you behalf with full support for course, exams, fees and study days.

Your role will see you assisting with the delivery of statutory audit services for both Owner Managed Business, and Not-for-Profit Client portfolio. As you get to build relationships with these clients your understanding for how their finance teams operate will develop enabling you to prepare audit planning documentation for review and to carry out internal control, system and walkthrough tests. You will be reviewing financial statements for accuracy all whilst undertaking your training contract.
