Audit & Advisory Manager

£ Competitive with benefits Full-time with flexible work patterns BGC-2110-AC Permanent

Family values and a meritocratic approach lie at the heart of this fast-growing practice which boasts a large number of long serving employees. The full service firm delivers high-quality advice to an attractive client base of owner-managed businesses across the north east of England and London.

Specialisms include technology, manufacturing, professional services and renewables to name but several and having enjoyed a significant number of client wins in the past 24 months and a strong pipeline of future work, they are able to offer this Manager appointment at an exciting time in the business with a view to long term progression, readily available for the right individual.

The culture of the firm fosters an advisory mindset. It’s not about transactional delivery but rather developing a client relationship whereby you have the opportunity, as you progress, to become their trusted adviser. Clients look to senior team members for all aspects of financial advice. This is something the firm do well, evidenced by their long-standing client relationships and significant referral business from existing clients.  As such, this position which sits within the audit & assurance service line involves much more than only statutory audit, offering you the opportunity to get involved a day to day basis with the following work:

 – Transactional due diligence for client acquisitions and third party clients such as private equity firms and banks

  • Assisting clients with fundraising
  • Business modelling
  • Supporting Corporate Finance on client M&A mandates
  • Marketing and business development

Joining as a Manager you will be encouraged to take ownership of your client portfolio and assist the client Partner with advice on finance related operational and strategic matters. We are looking for an experienced individual with first-class communication skills who is keen to continue their journey of professional development, dovetailing with the firm’s other service lines to provide a holistic service to clients.

My client is keen to welcome a qualified ACA/ACCA professional with a background in audit & assurance, experience working with owner-managed businesses and strong technical knowledge. We are seeking an individual with a willingness to learn and deliver the ethos of the firm which lies around excellence of client service.

Flexibility in working patterns and location is the new normal for the firm.  Having a presence in the office to enable you to build relationships with colleagues is, however, important, and there is a balance to be found. Similarly, a significant number of clients are expected to continue to be audited remotely for the long-term.

If you are looking to operate in an advisory capacity with an aspiration to progress your career this is a serious proposition to consider.
