A position has opened up for an Accounts Assistant  with a Newcastle based accountancy firm and presents a great opportunity for those looking to develop their practice experience. My client is looking for an AAT part or fully qualified Accounts Technician who has a minimum of 12 months experience working in practice.

Within the role you will be responsible for supporting the Partners and Senior Management with preparing year end accounts for both landed estates and farming clients of all size. Working to budget you will need to manage your time carefully ensuring that all accounts, bookkeeping and VAT returns are completed timely. 

In order to deliver accounting services to your clients you will find yourself interacting with colleagues across the firm to ensure all aspects of the clients accounts are completed.  From day one you will receive comprehensive training to ensure you are fully equipped to deliver on all clients services, from your initial induction to continuous learning to aid your professional development and any further studies you may undertake such as ACCA/ACA. 

We are looking for a professional who has “standout” people skills, naturally able to converse and develop rapport putting clients at the forefront of what they do.

Previous experience in a professional services environment is required and applicants must be able to work well with MS Excel and Word as well as have used accounting software. You must be organised and able to work to deadlines (at times under pressure) within a team environment. We are looking for a commercially minded aspiring Accountant who is hungry to commence their professional accounting career and be a positive advocate of the firm.
