Accounts Senior

A local County Durham accountancy firm that have seen considerable expansion over the last 10 years are looking to appoint an Accounts Senior to support both the senior management and trainees within their small team.

Whether qualified by experience or ACCA/ACA we are seeking an Accountant from the profession who is competent with general practice accounting. This will need to include client liaison, completion of year end statutory accounting on Limited companies ready  for Manager/Partner sign off. The role will also include a small element of bookkeeping, tax compliance and some management accounts. There are some solicitor accounts so if you do hold experience with solicitors accounts rules that would be beneficial.

The firm look after a number of audits across the region and the preference would be that the Accounts Senior can support with some of these, however this is not essential if you would prefer not to be involved in auditing. Training will be given for those interested to add this skill.

Clients are based locally and you will get to work with both small under £1million turnover businesses upto those over £40million so there is a great breadth of experience to gain and adds interest to your work. There will be plenty of opportunity for on-site visits building rapport.

The firm are able to accommodate someone at an Accounts Senior for the longer term, however with planned growth progression to Manager and beyond is fully available.

Most of the team are office based and enjoy working collaboratively, however there is scope to work one day a week from home once settled in. Start and finish times can be flexible to work alongside your family life.
