Accountant – Client Manager

We are delighted to be working with this South Tyneside accountancy firm based in Gateshead who are looking to appoint a qualified accountant as a Client Manager leading a small team of accounting technicians.

This is a firm who do things a little differently and are refreshingly modern in their approach. A paperless office, embracing technology they work with all the latest accountancy software and tools to work both efficiently and provide the best service to their clients. They have a close knit team who all work very well together with smaller client focused teams within. They have created a fun environment which creates much more than just a place of work. As Client Manager you will be responsible for leading a small team with ownership of a portfolio of clients. Clients range up-to five million across a range of industries. You will have direct contact with your client for all their accounting affairs including year end meetings. Your team will be there to support with work, for you to review as well as completing the more complex aspects yourself.  Services offered include: year end accounting, management accounts, VAT returns, tax compliance and payroll.  Your advisory skills will be utilised as clients consult with you on a range of business matters from system implementations, raising finance and funding to cashflow management.  You will not be expected to know all the answers, the Partners will assist, but you will be a confident communicator at ease with client meetings.

With a practice that empower their staff and provide exposure to clients directly this is a great opportunity for a newly qualified through to 5 years post qualified plus, to put your accounting skills to the test.

We are looking for a qualified Accountant (ACCA/ACA) with supervisor or leadership experience who is hungry for client facing work.  You will have competent skills in all aspects of general practice accounting, namely statutory accounting and bookkeeping. Payroll is not essential as it is undertaken by a specialist.

You must be a confident user of either Xero, Quickbooks or Sage.

Your previous experience will come from an accounting firm so that you are familiar with managing multiple clients and able to work to deadlines.
