AAT Practice Accounts Assistant
£18,000pa - £25,000pa depending upon experience Full time or 30 hours plus BGC-01944-AC Permanent
We are working with a small yet successfully growing modern accounting consultancy firm who provide both compliance and advisory services across accounting and taxation. From their Ponteland offices they are looking to appoint an Accounts Assistant to their friendly and down to earth team.
Offering an excellent opportunity to gain a wide breadth of accounting exposure the successful candidate will support the Practice Accountant with looking after the accounting affairs on behalf of their clients. This will involve bookkeeping, bank reconciliations, journal entries and quarterly VAT returns. You will also gain exposure to the preparation of year end accounts and pulling together balance sheet and profit and loss accounts. The use of cloud software is common and you will ideally bring some knowledge of either Xero, Quickbooks, Sage or similar.
My client is looking for an individual currently working in an accountancy firm who is keen to further develop their knowledge. As a minimum you will hold bookkeeping and VAT return experience. Professional qualifications are not essential, yet you will be supported on your learning journey if you wish to undertake studies in the future (AAT/ACA/ACCA). The benefit of joining this small firm is that you will be exposed to a wide selection of interesting work and clients, seeing your knowledge grow quickly.
The team work closely together and very much welcome someone who is passionate about being part of a team, all working in partnership for the common aim of providing a first class professional service to their clients. The position is office based, as this is where you will do your best learning, however your start and finish time is flexible and once past probation you can work a day a week from home if that suits.
